Wages Hours and Conditions
As of 1 January 2010, the Tasmanian Governments powers for industrial relations were transferred to the Commonwealth. All workplaces in the private sector, who up until this time had remained in the state system (sole traders, partnerships etc), moved into the national scheme (Fair Work Act).
This move did not affect state service employees who remain under the Tasmanian Industrial Relations Act 1984.
WorkSafe Tasmania no longer provide industrial relations advice other than to State Service employees. Private sector employers and employees who previously dealt with WorkSafe Tasmania for wages and conditions information need to direct all enquiries to

Unless otherwise outlined in award or registered agreement, the Long Service Leave Act 1976 will continue to apply to all employees in Tasmania and will be administered by WorkSafe Tasmania 1300 366 322
