Union Power! and Bennett’s team up for fuel discount

THANKS to Bennett’s Petroleum and Unions Tasmania the cost of living just got a little easier for union members.

Union Power! the new discount program run by Unions Tasmania, has teamed up with Bennett’s Petroleum to offer registered Union Power! members a 5 cents per litre discount on fuel purchases.

Unlike discounts offered by outlets linked to the big supermarkets there is no requirement to spend money in-store before receiving the discount.

“Union Power! members just need to show their card when buying the fuel," said Unions Tasmania Secretary Kevin Harkins. “That's it.

“Bennett's Petroleum is a locally owned, Tassie business and this partnership sends Tassie workers through its doors. It’s a win-win.

” The fuel offer starts Saturday December 1, 2012, putting more money in members’ pockets when they need it most, in the lead up to Christmas.

More than 50,000 Tasmanian workers belong to unions across the state and they are all eligible to join Union Power! to take advantage of this great offer.

“Tasmania is going through some tough economic times so every dollar workers save is good news,” Mr Harkins said.

“Our aim is to sign up as many union members as possible and enter more discount partnerships. We are especially looking forward to striking a better deal with power prices.

”Bennett’s Petroleum CEO Troy Bennett looked forward to offering value-for-money choice for workers. “This relationship with Unions Tasmania will provide a strong and consistent offer for all members 365 days a year, and we are happy this will help individuals with cost of living pressures,” he said.

This offer will be redeemable at eight Bennett’s Petroleum sites in Hobart and surrounds; Caltex Moonah, Caltex Claremont, Caltex Huonville, Caltex Brooker Avenue, Caltex Kempton, Caltex Snug, Caltex Regent Street, and Caltex Lenah Valley.

Fantastic to see unions and businesses working together for the benefit of union members. There needs to be more of this happening across Australia.
Great work Kevin Harkins

Hi, well done. If I was employed I would be a Union Member but being 'old' and disabled I do not have a paid job. BUT I am a fundraiser working very hard to raise funds for MS Research.
Thanks Gilli
